Deciding how to build your engine is a big deal. It is not cheap even though plenty of “cheap” parts are available. And there are plenty of “experts” on the internet that tell you how to do it.
Just remember these experts don’t have any of their money in the game! We want you to get what you are looking for. Please consider the following questions when determining how to build your engine.
- Which engine are you working on? 5.3, 5.9, 318, 340, 360, 383, 400, 440, Stroker? C.I.?
- What parts (block, heads, intake, headers, etc.) do you have that you want to re-use?
- What is your goal? Pulling a trailer, street cruiser, hot street, street/strip, race only? What?
- This is the big one. What is your budget? We want to get you the most power you can get for your budget. Horsepower costs money. How much are you prepared to spend to get what you want?
Rules & Trade-offs
To get a little more of one thing, you will need to trade-off for a little less of something else! You get the idea! So, the question becomes: What are you prepared to trade-off to get what you want?
Everything Has a Trade-off! (or vice-versa)
