Issue #10 Billet and cast cams
“Do I need a special distributor gear to use with my cam?” - (Never use a bronze gear)
Your CAM will be one of three types: cast, billet or billet coated.
Cast cams are the most common. Generally, billet CAMs are custom order special. However, some suppliers have had a difficult time getting cast cams and have resorted to billet CAMs.
For the chatters: billet coating is copper colored, which is similar a dark orange color.
This is a CAST CAM, you DO NOT need our gear, but it will live longer.
^^^This is a BILLET CAM, if this smooth area is copper coated you NEED our "Treated" distributeur gear. If it is not copper coated you do not need our gear, but it will live longer.
